CURRENTLY ON VIEW - Jan 16th through May 3rd, 2026

This installation/performance series at the Bemis Center for Contemporary Art highlights performances by Mark Guiliana, George Burton, Dana Murray, Kendall Wooden, and Phill Smith. Each month, a different musician will experiment with the site-specific installation, creating a live performance in the gallery. Each of the performances will be recorded and played back on a loop within the light installation. Visitors at Bemis will be able to experience each of the site-specific interactions as disembodied performances within the gallery during regular hours. I have been working collaboratively with each artist to develop their own distinctive approach to the audio-visual instrument. So far, this iteration of VOLUMES has featured some new explorations, including different methods of mapping sound with color, and linking sounds to spatial gestures. It has also included new instruments, including the Yamaha Disklavier & synths.
