VOLUMES at Co-Lab Projects, Austin, TX, 2021

VOLUMES is an ongoing project that uses live sound from a drum set to activate an immersive grid of lights. This iteration of VOLUMES at Co-Lab Projects transformed the gallery’s 40’ long concrete culvert structure into an interactive audio-visual instrument. The project included 17 percussionists from the Austin area and abroad, representing a broad range of styles and creative approaches to music. Participating artists were invited to experiment with the connection between sound, light, and the constructed environment over the course of an 8-week long performance series that was featured in both the Fusebox Festival and SXSW.
