reflective mylar, audio equipment, digital projector, media players
25’ x 11.5‘ x 12’
A 4-channel speaker rig plays an arrangement of audio recorded from jet engines and helicopter blades. A large mylar screen is positioned directly in front of the speakers. A digital projector casts light on the mylar, and the movement of the material’s surface can be seen on the opposing wall. Audio activates the movement of both material and image, translating the sonic frequencies of air pressure from one medium to another. Audio created in collaboration with Alex Braidwood. Installation at Tiger Strikes Asteroid, Philadelphia.
